FileZilla is both an FTP server and an FTP client. These programs work together to transfer files over a network. It is an open source application and is licensed. FileZilla permits the user to create a list of FTP sites including the connection data (port number, protocol, type of logon). It also has a message log showing the commands sent by FileZilla and the remote server’s responses. There is also a graphical interface for FTP where users can view and change their contents on the local and remote machines.
